With <strong>nine local businesses<\/strong> and <strong>enterprises <\/strong>in attendance, seven of whom were exhibiting, the<strong> event connected students with organisations<\/strong> demonstrating strong commitments to <strong>Equality Diversity <\/strong>and <strong>Inclusion<\/strong>. Those in attendance included the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.royalmarine.ie\/\">Royal Marine Hotel,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/cyclingwithoutage.ie\/\">Cycling Without Age<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackrockec.ie\/\">Blackrock Education Centre<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/southsidepartnership.ie\/social-inclusion-and-community-activation-programme-sicap2024-2028\/\">Southside Partnership<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urhired.ie\/\">URhired,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/greenbikes.ie\/\">Green Bikes<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/filmsmartpro.com\/about-us\/\">Filmsmart Productions<\/a>. The<strong> fair facilitated professional networking for the students<\/strong>, showcasing real-world applications of <strong>EDI principles in varied industry settings.<\/strong> It was fantastic to see students from all courses and year progressions show up to engage with community initiatives while also connecting with potential future employers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250410_1754113-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8344\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250410_1754113-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250410_1754113-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250410_1754113-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250410_1754113-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250410_1754113-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The evening culminated in a <strong>panel discussion featuring<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/owen-murray-48264b29\/\">Owen Murray,<\/a> Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/claire-mcging-887b66216\/\">Claire McGing<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/eamonn-crowe-8b775825\/\">Eamonn Crowe<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/cyclingwithoutage.ie\/author\/claraclark\/\">Clara Clark,<\/a> who gathered along with an audience of IADT faculty, students and community members to address the <strong>practical realities of EDI implementation and general attitudes around Equality Diversity and Inclusion.<\/strong> Dr. Claire McGing noted improvements in the HE sectors &#8211; with recommendations for EDI education coming from government level, along with commitments IADT has made to uphold EDI values. The accreditation and retention of the <a href=\"https:\/\/iadt.ie\/about\/equality-diversity-inclusion\/athena-swan\/\">Athena Swan Bronze Institution Award<\/a> and the goal to implement a common EDI module for all incoming First Years marks an encouraging step forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/IMG-20250411-WA0005-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/IMG-20250411-WA0005-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/IMG-20250411-WA0005-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/IMG-20250411-WA0005-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/IMG-20250411-WA0005-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/IMG-20250411-WA0005.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Eamonn Crowe <\/strong>reflected on the challenges faced by small business owners when attempting to implement EDI &#8211; \u2018<em>your role is to ensure the success of the business \u2013 EDI only ever has a chance to come after that\u2019 <\/em>while Clara Clark\u2019s was able to share her perspective with a commitment to inclusion through a Non-Profit lens &#8211;<em> \u2018I don\u2019t see barriers, I see opportunities that could be useful to the community\u2019. <\/em>Attendees were invited to share and pose questions to the panel, culminating in an open dialogue that encompassed the integration of Equality Diversity and Inclusion in society more broadly.<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/stefanosale\">Stefano Sale<\/a> of GreenBikes.ie<\/strong> spoke passionately about <strong>how EDI can be better communicated and understood<\/strong> \u2013 it was made clear that all walks of the community shared in the goals of the EDIFY project, with all in attendance leaving feeling inspired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250410_175918-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8354\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250410_175918-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250410_175918-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250410_175918-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250410_175918-1536x2048.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.edifyeduproject.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250410_175918-scaled.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong><em>Fair Jobs Fair<\/em> <\/strong>allowed the EDIFY EU project to <strong>represent the impact of the project aims <\/strong>directly to<strong> students and employers<\/strong>, fostering collaboration through varied sectors.
